“ My friends and I were in the city looking for a good spot to eat before a night out at the bars. Of course, it's San Francisco, Chinatown so parking around here can be pretty tricky. 606 is located on an iconic and nostalgic corner spot for me as my family also had a shop in SF and I used to be out in the area often. The food itself is not the usual Hong Kong cafe food with the baked items or toasted white bread with macaroni. Instead, it felt like a modern take on Dim Sum, Hong Kong, and American fusion. That being said, the food was delicious and their Hong Kong milk tea tasted authentic and good! My group really enjoyed the salt & pepper fish, it was crispy yet flavorful and the fish was plump and did not feel dry. The Simon's garlic chicken was also really good and they had a great portion of meat (unless some restaurants that tastes too much like batter and barely any meat). One of the owner, Eugene, was great. He came over to greet us and asked how everything was going. We really appreciate the time and effort of him going around checking to make sure all the guest was enjoying their meals. His hospitality made us feel like a friend visiting another friend's home for dinner. It was such a pleasant experience to hear about how they took over their uncle's restaurant and making it their own. Overall, a really great and enjoyable experience - both food and ambiance. ”
“ Food: 9/10 Okay, the food? So. Freaking. Good. My friends and I came here on a girls' trip to SF, and every single dish was delicious. We got plates to share, but warning--the portions are tiny (like, "I could eat three of these myself" tiny). Still, the flavors? Chef's kiss. Price: 6/10 It's SF, so of course, it's pricey. Given the portion sizes, it definitely leans on the expensive side. But if I secure my big girl job, I'd totally come back. Vibes & Service: 10/10 Small, cozy, and has that family-owned charm. At the end of our meal, one of the owners came over, introduced himself, and shared a little about the restaurant's history--such a sweet touch! Parking/Location: 5/10 Located in Chinatown, so don't even think about parking. Just Uber or walk. But it's easy to find, and the area itself is fun to explore! Final Thoughts: Would I come back? Yes, but with a bigger budget and lower expectations on portion sizes. If you're down for quality over quantity, this spot is a gem! ”
“ So so good! Walked in and did have to wait for ~25 mins or so. Our servers were lovely, they did keep switching but all were very attentive, talked to us about the most popular dishes, and asked about allergies/food restrictions. I appreciate the flexibility in removing/subbing ingredients to make it vegetarian friendly! We ordered the veg egg rolls, singapore fried rice (no eggs or meat), veg chow mein, simpon's garlic chicken. The veg egg rolls were perfectly crisp and served with a sweet and sour sauce. The chow mein did have a lot of vegetables but was well made. The fried rice was delicious, it was so flavorful and fragrant. But the star of the show was definitely the garlic chicken -- it was sweet, tender, crispy, truly all the good things and I get the hype! I'd come back for the chicken alone. Btw, other dishes that were recommended were the singapore curry noodles and salt and pepper fish! ”
“ After seeing their Hong Kong milk tea featured on Instagram, I knew I had to give this place a try especially since I've been inspired by my recent HK trip to search for the best milk tea here in SF. I can confirm that their milk tea is deliciously authentic! I felt like I was back in HK as we drank the hot cups during our lunch and got bottles to go. They had the perfect sweetness level, fragrant smell, and smooth taste. The bottom bit of the bottle was frozen milk tea instead of ice chunks, so the tea doesn't get diluted -- genius! I slowly sipped on this to make it last as long as possible. Food was solid, but don't be expecting cheap Chinatown prices at this renovated cafe. The sweet and sour pork ribs had a delicate crunch through the sauce. The dry beef ho fun needed more smokiness from the wok hei, but I appreciate that it wasn't too oily. The beef was super tender. I'll definitely be coming back because I love their HK milk tea so much! ”
“ My friends and I really enjoyed our meal at 606! The four of us came by Thursday around 6:30 pm and it wasn't too crowded. Definitely get the HK milk tea. The hot one comes in a cute cup and the cold one comes with an ice cube made of the milk tea so it doesn't get diluted! It was super delicious. We shared a couple of appetizers and entrees (* marks my favorites) * GP dry fried chicken wings ($16) - these were super bomb!! They were fried perfectly and coated with a delicious sweet sauce Onion crepe pancake ($10) - I've never had these fried before, only pan fried, and I gotta say, I've been missing out! * Salt & pepper fish ($22) - I see why this dish is so popular. They're super crispy on the outside but really soft on the inside 606 house fried rice ($25) - this was a solid dish, but to me fried rice is fried rice, it's never too exciting One friend got the chicken chow mein ($21) and another got the stewed beef noodle soup ($16). I didn't try either but they both liked their food. We ended the meal on a sweet note, with the mini sesame balls ($10). One order comes with a generous portion of 8 balls, and they were a great end to a fantastic meal! I'd love to come back and try more dishes, including Simon's Garlic Chicken. It's one of their most popular dishes! ”
“ Ordered to go on a weeknight through their website, which was a breeze to use! I know a good judge of a Hong Kong style restaurant would be their beef chow fun and it did not disappoint! The beef was tender, the noodles weren't overly greasy, each noodle was coated with the sauce, and it had great wok hei. Definitely will come back to the try their other dishes! ”
“ Milk tea was amazing. 4 stars just for that. Ordered: Fried calamari (was a bit salty for our taste) w/ add on egg fried rice. Pork chop ho fun: batter tasted a bit odd on the pork chop, soup base was diff than what I expected. Overall, food was so-so and pricey. Service was good. Interior was clean & updated. Would come back for the milk tea. ”
“ Honestly speaking this was a fantastic experience. The manager was so welcoming and helped us explore the menu. The soup dumplings are a must. This is a small family business that accommodated our food allergies so kindly. Love this place ”
“ the service is quick and the food is amazing. And the atmosphere of the restaurant is very calm ”
